| WHO:
Team Canada is a professional association made up of
nearly 250 member companies from across Canada: hotels,
attractions, restaurants,
transportation companies, tour operators, receptives,
Destination Marketing Organizations (DMO’s) and
more – all members of NTA, SYTA and/or ABA.
All 13 provinces and territories, Parks Canada, and
the Canadian Tourism Commission support Team Canada
and all play an integral role in our success.
WHAT:
Our Mission Statement: Team Canada is a member-driven
organization that promotes its members to qualified
North American-based travel trade professionals in order
to maximize product awareness and provide opportunity
for increased economic benefit.
Team Canada’s Continuing
Objectives are:
- Provide networking opportunities for Team Canada
members with buyers at the NTA and ABA marketplaces.
- Provide awareness/exposure for Team Canada members
to NTA and
- ABA buyers beyond the marketplaces.
- Promote active member participation.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of Team Canada's
effectiveness.
WHERE:
We are highly visible at the annual National Tour Association
(NTA) Convention, the American Bus Association (ABA)
Marketplace, the NTA Tour Operator Spring Meet and the
Student Youth Travel Association (SYTA) Conference.
Sponsorships, special events and networking opportunities
are utilized to ensure members get as much exposure
as possible. Team Canada also places members’
information in front of NTA, ABA and SYTA Tour Operators
who don’t attend the marketplaces through direct
mail and special promotions.
WHEN:
Team Canada became an association in 1985. Since
then, Team Canada has evolved into the professional,
effective and fun organization it is today. Team
Canada’s Annual Membership Drive takes place between
April and June each year and the Annual General Meeting
and Members Dinner is held during the ABA Marketplace.
WHY:
92% of NTA tour operators surveyed and 83% of ABA tour
operators stated they would include Canada as a destination
their next year’s tours. The vast majority say
they use the Team Canada Membership Directory when planning
their Canadian itineraries. Three quarters of them responded
that visiting the Team Canada booth during convention
resulted in a Canadian business contact. |
